5 Restaurants not to miss in New York, during your trip in the big apple …
Spotted Pig: The Gourmet Pub
A little more expensive than the rest of the restaurants selected in this section, it nevertheless remains a sure value.
We tested for you the Chargrilled Burger ($ 20) with its sauce Roquefort and fries as thin as shoelaces … a delight. Ask for the “medium” with regards to its cooking, it will melt in your mouth.
Difficult to say no to their beautiful desserts, the share of lemon tart ($ 8) with its nut of fresh cream is worth the detour alone.
The only negative is the wait, which is close to 2 hours on a weekend night. The trick is to have a beer (about $ 8) at the bar in order to spot a spot. Once again it is necessary to wait for the place to be liberated but much less – about 30 minutes.
Le Barricou: French charm
If you are nostalgic for your beautiful native country, come and take the brunch in this bistro looking like a French country house. For example, you can sip a delicious Bloody Mary (served in a jam jar) by the fireplace. As for the menu, do not hesitate, everything is good and especially cooked to perfection. The portions are generous, especially with regard to pancakes which are served by two and whose size will surprise you; They can easily satiate 2 empty stomachs. The service is also very well managed, but it is not unusual to have to wait 30 minutes at the weekend before being awarded a table – proof of the success of the establishment.
Long story short, we love it and do not get tired of going back again and again.
Tom’s: The kitsch brunch with wishes
Much less refined than the Barricou, but to discover for its typical atmosphere. To taste absolutely: Belgian Waffle Sundae with fresh strawberries and banana. On the other hand the grits – kind of polenta recommended by some guides – did not know how to delight our team who preferred their french fries in accompaniment.
Johnny’s Lunchonnette: The typical American brunch
Here we eat at the counter, so it is preferable to want to go there in limited numbers (take away and delivery possible, but less folklo). Johnny and his team serve a typical American breakfast – and not a diet – all day, at unbeatable prices.
We tested the bigman breakfast consisting of two large pancakes, two eggs very well cooked to your taste, fries, two sausages, bacon and a hot beverage … all for less than $ 9!
Shake Shack: Improved Fast Food
This chain was born thanks to the success of a small hot dog truck located in Madison Square Park during the summers of 2001 to 2003.
The main “restaurant” is still located there, but today, with its success, Shake Shack has multiplied in the city, one of them is next to Times Square, and we can even find Some abroad.
We like the simplicity and quality of the ingredients used in making these delicious burgers and milkshakes.
